Proscuitto Wrapped Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates

Prosciutto. Wrapped. Blue Cheese. Dates. Need I say more? Oh yes, served warm and drizzled with honey. These dates are everything you want in one single bite. Sweet, salty, creamy and DELICIOUS! I love offering bite sized treats for my guests. If you read my Entertaining Tips last week you remember that a rule of mine is to always offer your guests something to eat as soon as they arrive - you don’t want any of your guests asking “when is dinner?”. Finger foods are the perfect thing to offer. This one is easy and oh so good so guests can graze as they want and you can enjoy conversation with your guests until dinner is served. Enjoying your own party is a must!

Recipe

Ingredients:

12oz pitted deglet dates

3oz Prociutto

4 oz blue cheese - a slightly creamy one is perfect but pick your favorite

2 Tbsp honey

To make:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.

Pitted dates should already be sliced down the side but if you can’t find the slice, just make a slit lengthwise down the date.

Open date and stuff with a small chunk of blue cheese. Squeeze to close date around the blue cheese.

Take a slice of prosciutto and slice lengthwise into 4 strips.

Take one strip and wrap around date.

Place on lined baking sheet.

Continue this process with the remaining dates.

Once complete put the baking sheet in the pre-heated over for 5-7 minutes to warm through.

Once warmed remove from baking sheet and place on serving plate.

Drizzle wrapped dates with honey to finish.

Enjoy!
