Picante Paloma

I first tried a spicy Paloma in Ojai last summer and honestly, I have no idea why I didn’t think of it before. The spice of jalapeño goes perfectly with the grapefruit and makes it the most perfect drink for a warm day.

Recipe

Makes 2-3

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup tequila blanco (I recommend 21 Seeds Cucumber Jalapeño but any kind will work)

1 jalapeno, sliced

1 cup fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

1 oz simple syrup

1 oz lime juice

Soda water **optional

Directions:

  1. Add sliced jalapeño to a large glass

  2. Muddle the jalapeño to extract the flavors.

  3. Add tequila, simple syrup, lime juice and grapefruit juice to the glass and stir to combine.

  4. Strain and pour over ice

  5. Top with soda water **optional.
